EMT Staffing

EMT Event Staffing

Licensed, credentialed EMT staffing for events of every scale across Raleigh-Durham and the broader NC market — active first responders who do this work every day, not certification holders who show up once a month.

Active Responders vs.
Certification Holders

An EMT certification confirms someone passed a test. An active EMT is someone who responds to real emergencies right now. That difference is the entire premise behind how Guardian staffs every event.

Certification Only

The Standard in the Market

  • Holds a valid EMT card
  • May not be actively practicing
  • Skills maintained through recertification courses only
  • Equipment familiarity may be limited or outdated
  • Clinical decision-making untested under real pressure
  • Often contracted on-demand from a roster of available individuals
Guardian Standard

Active First Responders

  • Currently working in emergency services — ambulance, ER, fire department
  • Skills maintained through active daily practice
  • Current on protocols, medications, and equipment
  • Clinical decisions made under real-world pressure regularly
  • Consistent team — same people working together, not random contractors
  • Purpose-built for events, with a pre-event planning process behind every engagement

What EMT Staffing Covers

Guardian EMT staffing is a complete event medical service — not a body deployed to stand in a corner.

On-site Emergency Medical Response
Immediate BLS response to any medical incident — cardiac events, trauma, heat illness, anaphylaxis, respiratory distress, and more.
AED, Oxygen & Full Trauma Kit
Every Guardian EMT team arrives with AED, supplemental oxygen, airway adjuncts, BVM, and a stocked trauma kit with tourniquet capability.
Pre-Event Planning
Venue walkthrough, station placement, response plan development, and coordination with your operations team — before the event opens.
Direct Communications
Your event operations team has a direct line to our team lead throughout the event. No dispatch intermediary — immediate contact when it matters.
Incident Documentation
All medical responses documented and provided to you post-event — important for insurance, venue relations, and future event planning.
Load-in to Last Call
Coverage begins when your crew arrives — not when doors open. Our team is in position before the first attendee walks in.

How Many EMTs Does Your Event Need?

Staffing levels depend on attendance, event type, venue layout, and risk profile. This table provides a starting framework — we'll refine it during the consultation based on your specific event. See the full Event Medical Coverage Guide for detailed guidance.

Attendance Minimum Coverage Recommended Coverage Common Event Types
Under 500 1 certified first responder on-site 1 EMT + first aid station Private events, corporate gatherings, small concerts
500–2,000 1–2 EMTs + first aid station 2 EMTs + dedicated communications Community events, mid-size concerts, outdoor festivals
2,000–5,000 2–3 EMTs + first aid station + response plan Medical team (3–4) + rapid response capability + crowd management coordination Large festivals, sporting events, multi-stage events
5,000+ Medical coordinator + staffing plan required Multi-zone coverage with team lead, multiple stations, EMS liaison Major festivals, stadium events, large public gatherings

Event Types We Staff

Concerts & Music Festivals

Outdoor and indoor shows, multi-stage festivals, touring productions. High attendance, alcohol, heat, and crowd density all factor into coverage levels.

Sporting Events

Athletic competitions, endurance races, tournaments, and spectator events. Participant medical needs differ from crowd medical needs — we plan for both.

Corporate Events

Company gatherings, product launches, conferences, and team events. Professional coverage that operates discreetly and integrates with your event flow.

Community & Public Events

Fairs, parades, block parties, holiday events. Mixed demographics including families and elderly attendees require specific coverage considerations.

Private Events

Weddings, private parties, and invitation-only gatherings. We scale to fit — even smaller events benefit from having a qualified responder on-site.

Multi-Day Events

Recurring daily coverage for multi-day festivals and events. We coordinate staffing continuity across the full event schedule.

The EMT Staffing Process

From first contact to post-event debrief, here's what working with Guardian looks like.

01
Event Consultation

We gather event details — date, venue, attendance, type, and any special considerations. We confirm staffing levels and build your coverage plan during this conversation.

02
Venue Walkthrough

We walk your venue before the event. Station placement, AED locations, EMS access, ingress/egress review — all documented before day-of.

03
Day-of Coverage

Team arrives at load-in. Equipment staged, communications confirmed, response plan reviewed. In position before your first attendee arrives.

04
Post-Event Debrief

Incident documentation delivered. Debrief with event lead. Notes filed for future coverage if the event recurs — nothing resets.

EMT Staffing FAQs

What's the difference between EMT-Basic and Paramedic staffing?
An EMT-Basic provides Basic Life Support — CPR, oxygen administration, AED, trauma management, and basic airway management. A Paramedic provides Advanced Life Support, including IV therapy, medication administration, cardiac monitoring, and advanced airway management including intubation. For most events, EMT-Basic coverage is appropriate and meets the standard of care required. Guardian will recommend the right level for your specific event profile.
How many EMTs do I need for my event?
The right staffing level depends on attendance, event type, venue layout, duration, alcohol service, and risk profile. The table above provides a general framework. For a detailed breakdown, read the Event Medical Coverage Guide or request a consultation and we'll work through it with you directly.
Are your EMTs currently active first responders?
Yes — without exception. Every Guardian team member holds active credentials and works in emergency services outside of event coverage, on ambulances, in emergency departments, or with fire departments. Active practice is a non-negotiable standard for our team. A certification card alone does not qualify someone to work an event under the Guardian name. Learn what separates qualified providers from the alternatives: What to Look for When Hiring Event Medical Coverage.
What equipment does your team carry?
Standard Guardian EMT equipment includes an AED, supplemental oxygen with airway adjuncts, a bag valve mask, a fully stocked trauma kit with tourniquet capability, IV access materials, patient assessment tools, and radio communications equipment. For larger events, stretchers and additional response equipment are added based on the coverage plan developed during pre-event coordination.
How far in advance should I book?
30 days minimum is recommended — this allows time for pre-event coordination, venue walkthrough, and response plan development. We can accommodate shorter timelines when our schedule permits. Contact us as early as possible for the best results, especially for large events or peak-season dates.
Do you work with our venue's existing medical plan?
Yes. We review any existing venue medical protocols, AED locations, and EMS access points as part of our pre-event coordination. Guardian integrates with your venue's existing safety infrastructure — we're not here to work around it, we're here to reinforce it.
